Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his initial trophy for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the US Open.

His varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-term coach Cervara.

Presently training with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

It is Medvedev's initial title after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court from that period of the previous year.

Victory also means the Russian has achieved 21 titles at 21 various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.

Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and regular emotional displays on court had prompted some to doubt if his skill to compete at the elite level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

He recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the final five games to take the lead.

The competitors swapped breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden tour title, took control to create a final set.

Moutet saved 4 early-game chances in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev secured victory with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
